MinebeaMitsumi MM3460 is a switching power supply control IC designed to improve power factor for LED lighting applications. It employs asingle-converter architecture, integrating both a PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit compliant with harmonic current regulations and an AC-DC converter. This design reduces the number of parts and power loss compared to traditional two-converter systems, enabling high-efficiency configurations. MM3460 includes several built-in protection features such as input undervoltage and overvoltage protection, output overvoltage protection with delay, short-circuit protection. These protections are optimized for the single-converter topology used in LED lighting systems, minimizing the need for external components. Additionally, the IC is designed to support low standby power consumption by minimizing both startup and operating currents. It is available in a compact SOP-8 package and is compatible with standard flow soldering processes.
